    Tina jumped at the sound of the loud buzzer ringing in her ears, peering through the thick glass as a large metal door opened. A correctional officer made his way through, holding the door open for Kevin who sported a bright orange jumpsuit. Tina watched in silence as her ex-husband made his way over and dropped onto a stool in front of her.

    Kevin picked up the phone beside him, watching Tina through the glass as he waited for her to do the same. It had been only a few weeks but he had changed so much, he appeared thinner and bore a tired, defeated expression on his face. He seemed older somehow, as if the life had been drained from him.

    As unfortunate as it was to say, Tina found she felt no sympathy for the man across from her. He deserved his punishment.

    She hesitated before picking up the phone on her end, sighing as she finally deciding to get the visit over with. She brought the phone to her ear but remained silent, unsure of how to start the conversation.

    “Didn’t think you would come” Kevin spoke at last, his phone crackling over the line.

    “I almost didn’t” Tina stated deadpanned as she looked at the man she had once loved. It was hard to believe that they were there in that situation, their lives nothing like they were a few years ago.

    Tina stared at the broken man before her, unable to wrap her head around his recent actions. She thought about the man she had married so many years ago, unable to believe that was the same man who sat before her. She never would have thought he was capable of something so horrible, the fact that he had filling the blonde with an anger like no other.

    “Well, I’m glad you did” Kevin cleared his throat, suddenly feeling nervous under Tina’s intense glare. “It’s good to see you”

    “Bette convinced me to come” Tina explained as she ignored Kevin’s words, her sharp tone never faltering. “She figured I would need closure or answers at the very least”

    “Of course she did” Kevin scoffed at the mention of Bette’s name. Would that always be his reaction towards her? “Tina, I-“

    4. Thank you for this story. I was sitting in my office today and reading this one over again. My boss wondered what had me so enthralled lol. I love a happy Tibette ending. It’s something so special about these two. I love them. Inexplicably, because of all the challenges that come their way. They always overcome and that’s what truly matters.
