    I always recommend that spouses/partners maintain their own individual savings, checking, and investment accounts. I would leave the joint account for Angie intact but you might consider a separate joint account that you would contribute to equally for household expenses. You should maintain the insurance, retirement and college fund accounts that you’ve established. However Bette I will assume that you will be the proprietor of the art gallery whereby you will be self-employed. Your insurance and any other benefits that you are getting from your employer will be impacted and you need to consider that as well. The same goes for you Tina if you decide to leave your current employ. Do either of you have any questions or need any additional information or explanations?”

    ”I don’t have any. What about you Tee?”

    ”No I think I’m all set.”

    ”Thank you Jack. I think you have outlined it very clearly for us. Just one thing… will you be able to assist with the loan applications for the renovations?”

    ”Absolutely. I can start the paperwork immediately with a rough guesstimate but once you’ve gotten the actual quotes and have settled on an Architectural Design firm we can put actual numbers to it.”

    ”I will consult with a realtor and speak to Shane and Leigh about a decision on the condo. I do like the idea of investing in Bette’s gallery but that is further down the road. We will stay in the house for now until the residential space renovations are done. In the meantime we need to look into schools and other considerations for relocating. We can open a joint checking account for household expenses today. I have already cancelled internet, phone, and cable services at the condo so I can start paying ½ the utilities at the house. I will keep the electric power, water, trash pickup and lawn service in place until I either sell or its occupied.”

    4. You would have to throw the monkey wrench into the mix, didn’t you. I have faith that Bette has learned her lesson and if Candace tries anything, Tina will be the first to know.
      Then they’ll team up to slap her down!

    6. Am I right that it was Tina who did the cheating on Bette with Helena? Please do not let Bette get caried away. I hope she’ll put Candace in her place and tell her she’s a married woman!

    7. GM! Thanks for this post! Sorry, I didn’t make the post last night cause my body shut down on me about 9 or so. Plus it was storming here and that helped put me to sleep! I just can’t do Candance!! Pray everyone have a great day. I woke 40 minutes before the alarm had to pee. PPS

    10. Come on TEAM Porter show a little faith in our girl. LadySovjet yes you are correct. In this story Tina cheated with Helena; Bette never cheated and she’s not about to start now. Do you all really think that she would jeopardize her new relationship with Tina- the love of her life, the mother of her child, the woman she’s waited 8 long years to reconcile with? If you think there is a chance Bette would cheat with Candace then I’m not doing a good job of establishing her character :-).

      I threw Candace in the story for fun, and she will be around for a while so just stay tuned. Thanks as always for those who read and choose to comment. I appreciate the silent readers too.
