After the Kiss: Chapters 40 and 41 Midnight Moon

She hangs up with a smile.

Tina comes out of the bathroom wearing a robe.

Bette – Daddy won’t be able to come.

The blonde disrobes and comes back to bed with a yawn.

Tina – He thought I was the help.

Bette chuckles and rests her head on her shoulder.

Bette – He never really met anyone in LA except Al.

    Tina strokes her arm.

Tina – But he knows that you are a lesbian, right?

Bette – Uh-huh! (pause) I want you to meet him.

Tina – He didn’t seem very pleased to have a friend answer your phone.

    The brunette hugs her closely.

Bette – I’m sure he is going to love you … just like I do.

    The blonde looks pensive.

    Tina – I hope so …

    ————————————————–

Bette’s pool, morning: Bette is sitting by the pool, anxiously flipping through the newspaper. She finally stops on a page and reads it intently. A smile starts forming on her face but is quickly replaced by a frown.

Bette – Fuck! I’m going to kill that bitch!

Tina comes out of the house with two cups of coffee and places one on the table in front of her girlfriend.

Tina – What did you say?

    The brunette sighs with apprehension.

Bette – I was looking at the social pages.

Tina – Did she mention the opening?

She sits down and takes a sip of her coffee.

    Bette – Yes …

    Tina – Let me see.

Bette holds on to the paper.

Bette – Promise that you won’t get upset?

    The blonde frowns.

    Tina – Why would I?

The gallery owner hands her the paper with hesitation.

    She reads it and smiles.

    Tina – Nice, baby!

Bette – Did you look at the picture?

    The producer chuckles.

Tina – Alice will get a kick out of being in the paper.

The gallery owner raises her eyebrows.

    Bette – Just Alice?

    The blonde shrugs.

    Tina – And Gwen …

Bette – Did you … read the caption?

She watches her girlfriend with curiosity.

Tina looks at the paper again and bursts into laughter, to the brunette’s surprise.

Bette – I didn’t expect it to be a source of humor for you.

Tina – Next time you talk to the media, you must start your interviews by telling them who is not your girlfriend!

She caresses the brunette’s arm, still laughing.

    Comments

    1. Thank you for the chapter!

So, i see meeting with Melvin in the future. Always know how he would react on Tina, but always don’t know how Bette would react on his reaction in different stories. Is she dismiss Tina, like in TLW and leave her alone to go to the home, or she can find the courage and defend her girlfriend/partner?

    2. Niiiiice. I’d like to have this mermaid in my pool too :-)

I still love how assertive Tina is in her relationship to Bette. She’s not yet completely out yet but she doesn’t hesitate in anything when she’s with Bette. Relaxed and self-assured in their physical relationship, with Bette’s friends, out in the club, claiming her woman in front of Gwen and even picks up the Bette’s phone. I think she’s ready to be out officially.
I’m really curious how Tina will react to a meeting with Melvin.

Thanks so much for posting, still love your story.
