    Bette – You didn’t mind?

    Tina – No, I didn’t mind.

    Bette pouts.

    Bette – Not exactly the reaction I expected.

    The blonde raises her eyebrows.

    Tina – Did you want me to mind?

    Bette – Well … no, that’s just a stupid picture.

    Tina – Although I’m sure that Gwen will frame it and hang it on her bedroom wall.

    Bette – I don’t know how that happened.

    Tina – She was all over you, baby.

    Bette – I know … I told her to stop.

    She glances at Tina.

    Bette – I’m glad that you came to my rescue. She didn’t believe that I had a girlfriend.

    Tina – She does now!

    The brunette sighs.

    Bette – I’m glad that it didn’t upset you.

    The blonde gives her a sensual smile.

    Tina – You know who your girlfriend is … and you’ve shown her last night.

    They kiss softly.

    She turns to the picture and chuckles again.

    Tina – They have a fascination with your love life.

    Bette shakes her head annoyed.

    Bette – Fucking bastards …

     

    Chapter 41  The Celebration

    The Planet, late morning: Alice and Marina are seated, reading newspapers. Alice grins with excitement.

    Alice – Hey, we are in the paper!

    Marina – Where?

    Alice – Look … cute pic!

    She shows her the page.

    Marina – Hmmm …

    Alice – What?

    She looks at the picture again.

    Marina – It says that Gwen is Bette’s girlfriend.

    Alice – Damn! She is going to be mad!

    Meg arrives and makes her way to their table.

    Meg – Hi, gals!

    Marina – Hi, Meg!

    Alice – Hey! Where are the lovebirds?

    Meg sits down.

    Meg – I thought they were here already!

    Alice – Nope …Mark is so cute! Does he have a girlfriend?

    Meg – No … not lately. He is cute and he asked about you.

    Alice smiles delighted.

    Alice – Yes? What did he ask?

    Meg – How we met, if you had a boyfriend … the usual …

    Alice – Nice!

    Marina – I would love to have him play for us one of these days.

    Meg – I’ll tell him. Maybe you should all come to my house. Mark and Brad can give you a little preview of their music.

    Alice – That would be great!

    Marina – Sure!

      So, i see meeting with Melvin in the future. Always know how he would react on Tina, but always don’t know how Bette would react on his reaction in different stories. Is she dismiss Tina, like in TLW and leave her alone to go to the home, or she can find the courage and defend her girlfriend/partner?

      I still love how assertive Tina is in her relationship to Bette. She’s not yet completely out yet but she doesn’t hesitate in anything when she’s with Bette. Relaxed and self-assured in their physical relationship, with Bette’s friends, out in the club, claiming her woman in front of Gwen and even picks up the Bette’s phone. I think she’s ready to be out officially.
      I’m really curious how Tina will react to a meeting with Melvin.
