The third one offered her two cents. “But this place is probably meant to attract the people who are driving in from Billings, on their way to Yellowstone or to the Grand Tetons, right?”

Bette flashed her another big smile. “Yes! Yes! That is totally right. That’s my long-term target market, but I’m going for a whole other crowd that’s due to arrive in a few days.”

The delivery man coughed to remind her that he was waiting. Bette still held the cash she’d intended to tip them with in one hand. She turned to look at him with a half-apologetic smile.

“I’m sorry Tim. So you were suggesting…”

“Chamois. Don’t worry. I left you a whole box of extra cloth. I also left a printout of a list of places you can order those kinds of supplies from, some of them closer to you than our nearest shop.”

He and the other man accepted the tip she offered with caps in hand, thanking her for the outsize tip. Just before they left, the man asked, “Miss, if you don’t mind my asking. That’s a pretty expensive piece of machinery you’ve just installed back there. Normally, we make these special deliveries to big cities. First time we’ve ever done one in a town like this. Do you think you’ll make enough to get your investment back?”

Bette shrugged again, and offered a tight smile. “I went over that with your boss, too. At the very least, at least I’m assured of the best coffee around whenever I need one while hanging around here.”

The other man scoffed as he put his cap back on. “The best coffee from here to beyond Billings, if you ask me, and all the way to Jackson Hole, probably.”

Bette laughed as they turned to leave. “Our highway ad tries to say that much. Go tell your friends, would you? Spread the word?”

They turned to wave good bye at her, laughing also.

The three girls stayed where they were. Bette smiled at them, as she made to head back inside the newly-built café. “You girls spread the word, too, I hope.”

To her surprise they followed her in.

“Miss, are you hiring?” the young blonde who’d first spoken up asked.

    1. Skydancer, thank you for the update.

I was certain you would bring Tina in the café to meet Bette. But maybe it is Tina and she had to change her name too and needed to hide.

Lena or Tina doesn’t matter at the, moment, Bette can use some tender loving to reliesh her stress.

      • Nice chapter, skydancer. In some email exchanges with @Jacky, she’s passed on to me that she doesn’t expect, nor want writers to self-censor. Just write what you want and let the chips fall where they may. Gotta love that woman. I would just avoid keywords that would be caught by any sniffer. I’m sure you have an idea of what words might attract attention. Other than that, I say bring on the TLC!

    2. Really like this so far. If not mistaken, in the first chapter, I believe that I read that a film crew would be in the area very soon. So if you didn’t change Tinas’ occupation, then that is when she will show up. Right? Must go back and read that first chapter for some clarification of all this. Thanks for sharing. Can hardly wait for Tina to appear.

      • Hi @Jane, I was referring to warning or instructions you see when you start to post a new chapter or story. The warning is new, and informs you that Google is screening for mature content in the text, not just in pics that are posted. Since the site relies on Google providing a platform for it (I think), I took it seriously. I also took it to mean Google is screening other posted chapters (and I’ve posted a bunch of chapters with sexy scenes, so ….). But @Jacky is saying not to worry, so, I guess that means I can (?) does that clear it up for you?

    3. Hmmm, very, very interesting. Our favorite girls having to survive in a Red State, living underground, and communicating thru code! Sort of like life right now! Again. Please keep writing so I can relive this
