    Tina places her hand back on Bette’s stomach and continues to push her towards the entrance, turning and smiling to Kit over her shoulder.

    (Tina) It doesn’t feel right taking money from you

    Tina shrugs.

    (Tina) And I really did have fun

    (Kit smiles) Yeah, me too

    Kit frowns.

    (Kit) You’re sure about this?

    (Tina nods) I’m sure

    (Bette smiles) Night Kit

    (Kit smiles) Night you two

    Kit stands by the bar, smiling as she watches them leave.


    The next morning, Bette’s house. They lie in bed together, Tina lying on her back with her arm wrapped around Bette, who lies on her side with her head resting against Tina’s chest. Bette wakes and remains in position for a while, enjoying the feel of their intertwined bodies. She tunes into a familiar tapping sound coming from above her head.

    (Bette) Are you working?

    Tina laughs and looks down at her, unaware she was awake.

    (Tina) Yes

    Bette tightens her hold around her.

    (Tina) Sorry, I was trying not to wake you

    (Bette) Weren’t you moonlighting as a waitress until 2am? That doesn’t buy you a sleep in?

    Tina kisses the top of her head.

    (Tina) This is the last email. I was trying to finish before you woke so I can give you my full attention

    (Bette smiles) Well I do like the sound of that

    Tina continues tapping away and Bette holds her close as she nuzzles into Tina’s side.

    (Bette) Thank you for helping Kit last night

    (Tina smiles) Don’t mention it. I enjoyed it, really

    (Bette) Mmmm, I know you did

    Tina laughs and looks down at the top of her head.

    (Tina) The attention and the jealousy. Equally

    Bette smiles and tightens her hold around her as Tina reaches over and places her phone on the bedside table. Tina returns her attention to Bette and wraps her arms around her, kissing her gently on the top of her head.

    (Tina) Are you usually a jealous person?

    (Bette laughs) No, not at all actually. What about you?

    Tina smiles and shakes her head.

    (Tina) Never

    (Bette smiles) I guess we bring it out in each other

    Tina smiles and runs her fingers through Bette’s hair.

    (Tina) Yes, well, it’s my own fault I guess. It’s what I get for falling for the most beautiful woman in the room

    1. No no it can’t end this way. But i agree with Bette that she shouldn’t contact Tina, let Tina contact Bette and stop running away. They are clearly in love with each other and i don’t know why Tina is so against commitment and a relationship but i hope she will think about it hard and reach out to Bette. It would break my heart if Bette is going to move on.

      Looking forward to the next chapter.

    3. This is Tina’s panic and her reaction to her own feelings for Bette. So she calls it off. Okay. I cannot imagine that Tina is really happy with her decision. I cannot imagine that she does not fall asleep every night without thinking about Bette. Time for Tina to decide if she is really happy with a series of meaningless relationship for the rest of her days or something meaningful which she obviously has with Bette. Bette should not contact Tina. If she does not hear from Tina within a month or so, then sit down and write her a letter expressing how much she enjoyed their time together. Then say good bye and wish her well. Something short, sweet and to the point. Perhaps this will give Bette closure on this episode in her life.
