Chapter 14
(Tina) We’re clearly heading towards something that I don’t want. Something I can’t do
(Bette) Where are we headed?
Tina looks at her and takes a breath.
(Bette) Tell me what you’re worried about. What is it you’re so desperately trying to avoid?
Tina looks down at her for a long moment before moving to sit down on the bed beside her, looking down towards the floor as she gathers her thoughts. Bette watches her profile as she waits for her to continue.
(Tina) When I say I don’t want a relationship I mean it
Bette frowns.
(Bette) I’m not asking you for a relationship, I’ve never asked that of you
Tina looks over at her, and reaches for Bette’s hand.
(Tina) I know, you haven’t. And I know you say you’re happy now with how things are
She looks down at their hands for a moment before again meeting Bette’s eyes.
(Tina) But Bette, there’s just no future with me
Bette frowns as she listens.
(Tina) I’ll never want to make plans for the future with you, commit, promise anything
Tina shrugs.
(Tina) It’s just not what I want
Bette furrows her brow as she takes in what Tina is telling her.
(Tina) What we’re doing right now, that’s as much as you’d ever get from me
Tina sighs.
(Tina) And even if you say now that that’s enough for you, it won’t be in time. And the only way this can end is with both of us being really fucking hurt
Bette takes a breath as she searches her face.
(Bette) If you walk out that door right now, and I’m not able to see you again, I can’t tell you how much that is going to fucking hurt
Tina takes a breath and looks back at her.
(Bette) We’re already in this. Don’t pre-empt what I might want from you in the future. Let this play out
Tina looks down at their hands for a long while. She raises her eyes to Bette and takes a breath.
(Tina) I’m sorry
Tina holds her gaze for a moment before withdrawing her hand. She rises from the bed and steps away from her, placing her remaining belongings into the bag and picking it up and walking out of the room, and Bette watches her go.

No no it can’t end this way. But i agree with Bette that she shouldn’t contact Tina, let Tina contact Bette and stop running away. They are clearly in love with each other and i don’t know why Tina is so against commitment and a relationship but i hope she will think about it hard and reach out to Bette. It would break my heart if Bette is going to move on.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
I agree wholeheartedly with Bibi’s Comment.
Bette should not contact Tina. Please do not let this be the end.
Post more soon.

This is Tina’s panic and her reaction to her own feelings for Bette. So she calls it off. Okay. I cannot imagine that Tina is really happy with her decision. I cannot imagine that she does not fall asleep every night without thinking about Bette. Time for Tina to decide if she is really happy with a series of meaningless relationship for the rest of her days or something meaningful which she obviously has with Bette. Bette should not contact Tina. If she does not hear from Tina within a month or so, then sit down and write her a letter expressing how much she enjoyed their time together. Then say good bye and wish her well. Something short, sweet and to the point. Perhaps this will give Bette closure on this episode in her life.
Thanks for the chapter…
Is Tina sick or something? Is she dying and will only live 10yrs?? Whyyyyyy so scared to commit???? C’mon Tee!! Come back!
Thanks, K! Been checkin’ everyday for new chaps. :)
Oh please don’t let this be the end. I love this story. Tina need to realize what’s she’s walked away from.
