Chapter 31 – Off to New York
Angie and Bette worked at the wrapping and felt good about it when they rolled the rack to the lounge and parked it next to the other things headed for New Haven. They then went and brought the two bicycles into room. They went back into the room, stripped the bed and folded the sheets, and covers and packed them into a box marked for Santa Monica. Bette checked the bathroom while Angie checked every drawer and the closet for anything left behind. Angie unplugged the lamp and rolled the cord around it. Bette would take this to the dining room. Angie took the remaining plastic wrap and packing supplies to the lounge. Bette declared the room ready for the movers, grabbed the lamp and headed for her own nap. Angie headed for her room.
Tina, Mary and Daniel had made significant progress on Daniel’s room. Dan and Mary had cleared the closet while Tina worked on the bathroom this morning. Dan and Tina had worked on the desk while Mary pack everything in the chest of drawers for charity. In the afternoon. Since Daniel was using another guest room, the bed was stripped and the linens packed for moving to Santa Monica. There were only 3 or 4 boxes of things going to Santa Monica on a wall in this bedroom. Daniel and Mary moved all the charity bags to the lounge while Tina took the lamp to the dining room and then joined Bette in their bedroom for a nap.
Bette: We have Angie ready for New Haven and her room is ready for the movers. I am now ready for a little shut eye.
Tina: Daniel’s room is complete as well. Fortunately, most of his stuff is going to charity. That speeded the process up. His room is now complete as well. How about a kiss?
Bette: I’d love to kiss you. Come to bed with me. I could use a little comforting right now and of course some sleep.
Bette and Tina stripped down to their bra and panties, pulled down the covers and got into their bed. They kissed lovingly and affectionately, but they both knew that sleep was what they craved. They were asleep in moments curled up against on another – secure in the fact that the other was right with them.
