Chapter 5 – A Day with No Plans
Tina: Yes, and we will have purchased vehicles, obtained insurance, obtained our driver’s licenses and new bank accounts and have started the process to purchase a new home.
Bette: All we have left is to teach Angie to cook and do laundry and discuss the changes that are coming.
Tina: And don’t forget, she starts driving lessons on the morning of her birthday. We need to plan a little celebration. And then we need to plan a big celebration for the weekend before we leave for New York.
Bette: And if we have not found a house by then, we will need to move into Helena’s home. Before we leave. I think I’m going to get some help on that one also. We need to move that which we don’t need to storage. But that shouldn’t be so bad. Surely, we haven’t bought that much stuff.
Tina: Let’s schedule that after we get back from New York. Hopefully we are going to be looking at houses during most of the first couple of weeks in August. We need to think about getting Daniel in some activity for August. He does not need to sit around playing his video games.
Bette: Yeah, maybe he can take some tennis lessons or some golf lessons. Maybe Angie might be interested in that also as soon as she’s finished with driving lessons. Maybe she be able to drive them to their lessons?
Tina: Will she be allowed?
Bette: Well, she will have her license and she will be an adult and she will have finished her driving course. What else is there? And we have insurance on her beginning August 5th.
Tina: Let’s see how things go. In theory it’s good. But I need to see how I feel when she gets behind the wheel. And I need to know where she is going to be driving with my ten-year-old son in the car. She will still be a new driver. And I know she has to drive to get experience but I want to know that she knows what she is doing before I just grant permission for that.
Bette: Oh, I understand. I’m with you. I won’t even suggest it if Angie isn’t a safe driver with her attention focus on where it should be.
