Chapter 5 – A Day with No Plans

Shane:  Will do.  Tina, you and Angie have a good time in New York.  I know you wouldn’t go if you didn’t need to.  Bobbie and I want you two to come to dinner with Bette and Daniel sometime before Angie goes off to school.

Tina:  Thank you Shane.  We would love to.  We will talk once we get back.

Shane:  Bette and Tina.  Thank you for calling.  I’ll see you Bette on Monday afternoon and Tina, you be careful and have a good time on your trip. We love you both!

Tina:  We love you too Shane. Bye.

Bette:  See you soon Shane. Bye.

    They hung up the phone.

Bette:  Well, I won’t have to cook on Monday.

Tina:  There is a few things in the freezer which you can fix for dinner next week.  I think there is some spaghetti and some chicken parmesan. You may need to add a salad or some vegetables for a good meal. There may be some French toast and some pancakes as well for breakfast. And you can always fix some eggs and toast and some breakfast meats.  There will be plenty for you to select from. But it looks like you are going to be out and about most of the week, so I think you will be fine.

Bette:  Oh, I can handle meals for Daniel and me for a week. I promise you; Daniel will not miss a meal.

Tina:  I know. He has a way of reminding us about meals. He’s a growing boy.

Tina:  Speaking of meals, what do you want for dinner?

Bette:  Oh, whatever you want to fix.

Tina:  I’m in the mood for some meatloaf, mash potatoes, green beans and glazed carrots.  I think we have ice cream in the freezer for dessert.

Bette:  That sounds wonderful. Do you need some help?

Tina:  I would love to have some help. I think we should let Angie stay with her studying. Once we get back from New York, we will continue her cooking lessons. Before we start dinner, I’m going to get the documents together for our driver’s licenses.  Can you retrieve your passport and driver’s license?

Bette:  Yes, and we need to talk about bank accounts and which bank we want to get our accounts in.
