”Only the lead singer” Bette repeated mockingly, a smile tugging at her lips. ”Face it, Al. You could have any girl you want. The only reason you don’t is because you’re too busy waiting for Tasha to come around”

”She’s around” Alice said defensively, her resolve quickly crumbling when she saw the look Bette gave her. She turned onto her side as she found herself stumbling over her words, ”S-she’s around. She just .. you know .. thinks that I should be doing something different with my time. She thinks being in a band is a waste of time”

”Alice” Bette groaned as she turned onto her side to mirror her best friend’s form, resting her weight on her elbow. ”She’s such a bitch. Why can’t you see that?”

”Why can’t you see that I’m happy with her?”

”Because it’s not true” Bette met her best friend’s eyes with the utmost sincerity, ”She’s always judging you. She never supports anything you do and doesn’t care enough to even try. She’s so stuck up that there’s no way you can even reach that stick up her ass”

Alice had to laugh at the last part, knowing that despite her desire to defend Tasha and her actions, Bette was right.

Alice herself had no real explanation as to why she continued to stay with Tasha but maybe it was finally time she moved on.

Bette and Alice lifted their heads at the sound of an approaching car, recognizing it to be Tina’s.

”Finally!” Alice sat up and jumped off the bed of the truck just as Tina was exiting her car, leaving Bette to pick up her jaw from the floor.

Tina’s short blonde hair had grown a few inches since Bette last saw her and now fell in waves around the her beautiful face. Her low rise jeans and tight red crop top revealed a lightly toned stomach and a piercing that Bette hadn’t noticed before.

Sexy.

Bette swallowed hard as her eyes roamed over Tina’s body in a way they never had before. She had always found the blonde attractive but her thoughts had never ventured further than that. Maybe it was Tina’s confession to Alice about her sexuality but Bette was seeing the younger blonde in a new light and she definitely liked what she saw.
