“Just relax” Alice mocked as Bette opened one eye to look at her and smiled.

“So Gabby asked for you” Bette’s smile widened as she readjusted her head on the jacket she was resting on.

“Oh really?” Alice responded casually as she enjoyed the warm shining down on her face. “Did you tell her to lose my number?”

Bette laughed, “I don’t understand why you don’t like her. She’s a nice girl and she seems really into you”

“Yeah and she also seems to not be capable of taking a hint. She’s crazy, Bette. I never call her back and I avoid her every time we’re in the same place. I don’t know what makes her think I’m playing hard to get”

Bette smiled as she ran her fingers through her silky curls, “Maybe you shouldn’t have been so good in bed”

Alice raised herself up on her elbows and turned her body to look down at her best friend in shock, “Is that what she told you?!”

Bette chuckled as she remained in the same position, her eyes still closed. “No but I heard it from Erika”

Alice raised an eyebrow, “Her roommate?”

“Yup”

Alice shook her head and returned to her original position, “Do I even wanna know?”

“I was sneaking out and I overheard them”

“It was a rhetorical question!” Alice exclaimed, making Bette laugh. Alice couldn’t help but laugh herself but soon grew serious, “How do you do it?”

“Do what?”

“Just be you. Girls literally fall at your feet every single day. I just don’t get it”

Sensing there was more to Alice’s question, Bette tried not to let the truth of it bother her. She knew Alice wasn’t trying to judge her but merely making an observation.

She tucked a hand under her head, “You know, it can be like that for you too if you want”

“Oh yeah?” Alice scoffed, “How?”

Bette turned her head, opening her eyes to smirk at her friend. “We’re in a band genius. That’s like a gold mine when it comes to meeting girls”

”Easy for you to say” Alice mumbled, ”You’re the lead guitarist”

Bette couldn’t help but laugh out loud as she righted her head and closed her eyes once more, ”And what are you?”
