”It’s not just that” Alice sighed desperately but rolled her eyes despite herself. She knew what her sister was trying to do and Alice wouldn’t do it. She wouldn’t beg, ”We don’t have money for a tow”

That’s too bad. Looks like you’re just gonna have to walk home

”Tina!” Alice cried in disbelief that her sister could be so horrible. Surely she didn’t that kind of treatment from the younger blonde. Okay, so she deserved some of it. But only a little.

The words were offered so sweetly and Alice ran her tongue over her teeth because right then she knew that Tina had won.

She spoke through teeth clenched so tightly that she was surprised the word even came out at all, ”Please?”

There was a sigh on the other end and Alice held her breath. Tina couldn’t be so cruel as to ask for her to beg again. Tina was always the pushover out of the two.

You sure you can’t get anyone else to help you out? What about Shane?

”She’s not answering her phone” Alice replied almost immediately.

I don’t even have my jumper cables. I’m using mom’s car.

Either Tina was enjoying her teasing game way too much to let up or something was wrong. She was never so avoiding before, ”That’s fine. Shane can bring us back after our gig”

The sigh was heavy, the respond hesitant and Alice could only wonder why but she didn’t read too much into it. She was much to desperate to reach her gig on time, I’ll be right there

“What the hell is taking her so long?” Alice asked with annoyance as she lifted her head to view down the semi busy road, dropping her head back down when she didn’t see any cars that she recognized.

“Just relax. She’ll be here soon” Bette responded as she remained in place, her eyes closed to block out the bright sun.

It had been a little less than a half hour since Alice had gotten off the phone with Tina, both herself and Bette deciding to lay in the bed of Bette’s truck as they waited for the younger blonde to arrive.
