Tina: Bette, kiss me, please.
Bette leaned back and looked in my eyes and could see that I sincerely wanted to kiss her. She then leaned in and kiss me on the lips lightly and again with a bit more sincerity and warmth. She then pulled back. Her lips were so soft and so expressive. It was like no kiss I had ever experienced in my life. This kiss said to me that this is a person who cares about me for who I am and not just for what I can be for her. It was an amazing kiss which I will never forget for as long as I live.
I then leaned into Bette and kissed her gently but insistently and held it there for a moment. When I came out of it and was standing there, I had tears in my eyes. Bette warped her arms around me and just held me and said “That was lovely Tina.”
I don’t remember much about what happened after that. I think I was somewhat dazed. We evidently gathered our things and headed to the golf cart. I was rather silent on the way back to the cabin. I think Bette was a little worried that I might have gone into a homophobic shock. But that simply was not the case.
Bette: Tina are you okay? You are awfully quiet.
Tina: Bette, that was the most wonderful kiss of my life. Yes, I want to explore the possibilities of having a relationship with you. I cannot let this opportunity just go by without giving it a try. I’ve never felt this way about another person in my life. This must be what people mean by love at first sight. But this is not love… this is something else. It’s attraction, curiosity, and desire all warped in one. All I know, is that if I do not see what the possibilities are with you, I will regret it for the rest of my life.
Bette: And you are sure about this?
Tina: Yes, I’m sure.
We pulled up into the carport and parked. Josh came out and welcomed us back and volunteered to put the golf cart back into the garage. We took our bags of wet swim suits and Ethel met us at the door and offered to wash our dirty clothes along with the wet suits so that we could pack that evening. We graciously accepted her offer and then went to the dining room and had a lovely lunch of potato soup with corn beef sandwiches. After lunch, Bette talked me into taking a nap. We stripped down to our underwear and got into bed. She was wearing a sports bra and matching panties which resembled a conservative swim suit. She decided to spoon into me and instructed me to sleep. I was full and comfortable and I slept well.

Well, what a story, I really enjoyed it.
I love how they meet, their time at Camp David and the natural progression they took together.
Try really are perfect for each other and your story certainly reflects that.
I still can’t bear to think of them not being together!

First of all this story is an alternative time and life for our Bette and Tina. The story is being told by a woman who is older (85 years old) and has experienced a full and joyful life with the woman she loved. They have had more than 40 years together even though they didn’t meet until they were middled aged. I like that they took the time to get to know one another for a few days before charging into a romantic relationship. I like that Bette insist that Tina think about her own life and if she is prepared for the changes which will occur as they start to see each other romantically. Bette wants Tina to make her decision about her life knowing the possible downside. For me, that shows immediately how much Bette respects and cares for Tina right out of starting gates. I also like that Bette insist they talk about things fully as they go. She seeks out Tina’s boundaries and comfort level before they do anything. This is why their relationship is so strong…. they hide nothing from each other.
From the idea to publication, I took 4 days… I enjoyed writing this story because I could see that both Bette and Tina would go from a mundane life to a life of love and devotion within a matter of weeks. And it would result in a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t that what we all want in our lives?

I do have three long book stories which is a single series and one other one shot which is about the same length as this one. I then not to writer about angst and problems between Bette and Tina.
