The Conversion

Bette: Well, that was some welcoming. I don’t remember having my face completely licked like that.
Tina: I’m sorry, I forget that they can get a little exuberant in their affection for people.
Bette: Oh, no problem. At least they like me.
I moved over and sat on the couch with Bette.
Tina: I’m going to set you up in the guest room so you will have a closet and a bathroom of your own. However, you are welcomed to share my bed if you wish, or you may sleep in the guest bedroom.
Bette then turned to me and pull me into a searing kiss. She looked at me to see my reaction.
Bette: I believe that I will be sharing a bed with you. Are you ready for that?
Tina: Bette, I am anxious for that. I have miss you so much and I am so glad to have you here.
Bette then took my hand.
Bette: What I mean is that I am ready for some intimacy with you. Are you ready for that? Because if you are not, then there will be no intimacy and that will be fine. You make the call.
Tina: Well, I am nervous about this… but yes, I think that I am ready.
Bette: Well, we will start slowly. If there is anytime you want to stop, you just say so. I do not want you to feel pressured to proceed if you do not feel ready. This is something you should enjoy and not be scared about. If anything is uncomfortable or which you do not want, just say the word and everything stops.
Tina: Thank you Bette… now why don’t you go get settled and I’ll get dinner on the table. We are having spaghetti and a salad.
Bette: Sounds wonderful. Do you have wine?
Tina: Yes, I am fully stocked on wine for the weekend. Food too. Of course, if you would like to go out, we can do that too.
Bette: Let’s see how things go and make those decisions later. This is a nice place, Tina.
Tina: Its fine for me. I really do not need a very big place. It’s a two-bedroom two-bath condo with a balcony. It has the living room, dining area with an open kitchen. I moved in when I got a divorce. Meets my needs. But I think that the time is coming for a change.

Well, what a story, I really enjoyed it.
I love how they meet, their time at Camp David and the natural progression they took together.
Try really are perfect for each other and your story certainly reflects that.
I still can’t bear to think of them not being together!
Thank you so much, a beautiful story.
I look forward to the next one.
Janice24,
First of all this story is an alternative time and life for our Bette and Tina. The story is being told by a woman who is older (85 years old) and has experienced a full and joyful life with the woman she loved. They have had more than 40 years together even though they didn’t meet until they were middled aged. I like that they took the time to get to know one another for a few days before charging into a romantic relationship. I like that Bette insist that Tina think about her own life and if she is prepared for the changes which will occur as they start to see each other romantically. Bette wants Tina to make her decision about her life knowing the possible downside. For me, that shows immediately how much Bette respects and cares for Tina right out of starting gates. I also like that Bette insist they talk about things fully as they go. She seeks out Tina’s boundaries and comfort level before they do anything. This is why their relationship is so strong…. they hide nothing from each other.
From the idea to publication, I took 4 days… I enjoyed writing this story because I could see that both Bette and Tina would go from a mundane life to a life of love and devotion within a matter of weeks. And it would result in a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t that what we all want in our lives?
Thank for reading and for commenting on this story… until I saw your comments, I didn’t think anyone had read it…. Thank you for your support and encouragement…
OMG! How did I let this gem get past me. I loved every word. I would love to read something else from you, thank you so much for your talent.
OneStorm1 – Thank you for reading… I published this a little more than a year ago and I posted it this year on Achieve of Our Own. I do have three long book stories which is a single series and one other one shot which is about the same length as this one. I then not to writer about angst and problems between Bette and Tina. I think there are plenty of authors who present those kind of stories. All my published stories are on this website. Go to the story search page, put my name in under author (Martha3128) and they are all listed.
