I hug Shane “You look so fit “
“I feel it “
“You want a drink ?”
“Nothing thanks – how’s my goddaughter ?”
“Hopefully sleeping “ I reply
“Looks more like Bette than Bette “ Alice tells her “Scary “
“Shane – we are discussing Holly Lancaster – what do you think ?”
Shane sits down and sighs “I think she is Hollywood egomaniac and we should not under estimate what she will do to get her own way “
“Come on – she cannot have a hope in hell that she’s going to snare Bette “
“Never under estimate what she wants “ I say “”She’s had 30 odd years of no one ever saying no to her. She is old fashioned Hollywood – a diva. She can throw the biggest strops of anyone and she’s sacked assistants for the most trivial reasons “
“Sounds delightful “ Alice says “ Remind me again what you saw in her ?”
“Yeah – what did you see in her ?” Shane asks
“Oh come on – everyone falls for at least one person who utterly turns them on their head. Holly was so sure of herself – she made me feel like I was the most important person around. That’s what she’s got – that’s what 30 years of Hollywood does for you – she has a charm that is almost mesmerising “
“You are not without charm yourself “Alice points out
“I know – maybe when I start as a Senator I used to channel how I had seen Holly behave. She had a spell on me. I wouldn’t fall for it now because I see how shallow she is and I see that she could damage the things I treasure the most – such as my family and my Presidency. That is not going to happen. She needs to back off me or there will be consequences “
Alice, Shane and Kit exchange looks
“Care to elaborate on that ?” Kit asks
“Not really – there is no point. Look – she got to me once and yes I was freaked out about it. Lets see what she does tonight. She might keep her distance and if she does – that’s fine – that’s what I want. But what I do not want is her getting through to me “

Thanks for the update – really appreciate it. Have a great vacation and enjoy your self totally – don’t even think about writing. But when you return to the Lwing please please please have Bette show this woman the door fast.
I can’t wait to see what happens when Holly arrives. Even with all the protection Bette has I’m concerned that she will somehow get to Bette. I just hope Bette is prepared to put her in her place…

Hey AllyE, Many thanks for another fabulous chapter of this political drama.I love how you have kept it true to the characters and yet have created this very different world for them all to inhibit.I love these long and interesting conversation between all the gang so it was great to have Bette, Kit and Alice sort through some of the whole Holly debacle.More please.Thank you so much for this awesome adventure.Your Loyal Fan and Friend.
