Underway Ships Colors – Chapter 3

    “Okay, I’ll meet you there.”

    “Great!”

“See you then, “she says hanging up the phone then takes a deep breath before dealing with her heathen sailors. She was beyond excited knowing she would be serving with one of her dear friends. Locating an empty chair she takes a seat awaiting for the meeting to begin. The command Master chief was grateful when she scanned the room to see the majority of everyone arrived on time. Looking over the sign in sheet there were a few more names that did not have a signature next to it. Grabbing the sheet she stands in front looking to get everyone’s attention.

“Excuse me can I get everyones attention, “hearing her voice the personal and light conversations being held ceased, “In approximately five minutes our captain will be arriving and the meeting will begin.” As she completed her sentence a woman sitting in the very last seat in the second row caught her attention.

“Excuse me, “she says walking over to her then tapping her on the shoulder, “Are you in attendance for someone else?”

“This seat is so comfortable it feels like I’m sitting on my teddy bears face.”

“Uh, this meeting is for department heads and officers only.”

“When are the snacks going to be served I’m starving?”

“I’m sorry, “she says before looking at her name tape on her uniform and ranking on her collar, “Petty Officer Schechter I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

“And I’m afraid of people who don’t wear deodorant.”

“What? I’m sorry what does that have to do with——.”

“Ooooooooh, I hope they’re serving cupcakes I love cupcakes they’re like cute little muffins that believed in miracles.” Every response Petty Officer Schechter gave it left the same look you give the sidewalk when you turn around after tripping over it! It was painfully obvious she had a few screws loose and was the type who believed she could count every strand of her hair. Turning her attention away from her towards the clock it was time from the meeting to begin. Rushing towards the entrance she made it just in time as Captain Porter stepped into the conference room.

(Attention on Deck)……….she yells. Everyone with the exception of Petty Officer Schechter who seemed completely fascinated with making bubbles with her spit, stood to their feet.
