Alice laughed, “What do you guys get?”
“Well if I win, Shane has to let her hair grow for a year”
Impressed with the terms, Alice nodded with a wide smile. “And if Shane wins?”
“I have to cut mine”
“How short?”
“Shane short”
Alice let out another laugh, “Wow, I don’t know which I want to see more. Shane you have what, three days left? You look ready to crack, you think you can last?”
“Please” Shane rolled her eyes, confidence shining in her brown orbs. “I got this. She can’t break my resolve”
Carmen laughed and closed the distance between herself and her on edge girlfriend, “Yeah, until I do something like this”
She tunneled a hand into Shane’s soft hair, her fingers tickling a spot on Shane’s neck that she drove her wild. She leaned in and gave the slender brunette the briefest kiss, making sure to teasingly dip her tongue inside Shane’s mouth.
She pulled back to see the tortured expression on her girlfriend’s face and both her and Alice shared a laugh.
“Oh yeah, Shane. You have this locked down”
Shane playfully threw an unused napkin at Alice before making her way to an empty table.
Kevin looked up just as another round of laughter sounded in his ears, his eyes immediately landing on a group of women he recognized as Tina’s friends. He watched as they settled into an unoccupied table on the other side of the cafe, inwardly grimacing when he saw two of the women kiss.
He never had a problem with same sex couples before but with circumstances being as they were, he found uneasiness settling in his stomach. It was a world he didn’t fully understand and it annoyed him that his ex-wife was now a part of it.
He looked to the side at a smiling Angelica, hating that she had been exposed to the same world. He could find no fault in anyone other than his own, knowing that had he made better choices his family wouldn’t be sitting in that cafe.
He wasn’t worried though, in fact had complete faith in his plan. Once he won Tina back, everything else would fall into place. Their lunch date was more than evident that things were leaning in his favor. It was only a matter of time.

About the chapter, Kevin is a nasty piece of ass.
I don’t understand why Tina didn’t tell the truth who was at the door.

I understand why Tina tried be friends with Kevin, but i think she need to stop be so naive about him. She alredy understand it, after his drunk appearance, but maybe it’s too late – he’s already made his plans about Angelica.

I think that Kevin, how stupid he is, understand that no judge gives him custody of Angelica. So i think he might to try another, illegal way to take Ange.

So glad Tina got wise to his lil game to win her back. After ABANDONING Tina and Angie and having NO RELATIONSHIP with his child, I can’t see a Court giving him any rights…he would have to have supervise visitation at best.
I love the way Tina Reassured Bette that she is her ONE AND ONLY!!!
Great birthday dinner with the Bracelet and the understanding that a proposal is coming one day…cute! I wished she would have told Bette about Kevin showing up drunk and looking to reconcile, but I understand NOT wanting to ruin their time together after a tough couple of weeks. I know Bette is gonna lose it when she finds out what Kevin is up to. She is very protective of Tina and Angie!
Glad you are feeling better, I had bronchitis in December it is hard on the body…the coughing alone make you so tired and sore. Take care and take all your antibiotics!

Ugh. Kevin is grinding my gears lol! I wish he’d just disappear and let Bette take over as the second parent role officially. Seems as if she has anyway. Ohhhh and I hope that’s a foreshadowing of a soon-to-be proposal! Love your stories. :)

Any chance u would make a sequel out of “as good as it gets” and continue with “never say never”? I am curious what kind of life does Tibette have with Tina become a famous singer and bette as a famous producer in as good as it gets or how Tina could finally fall in love with bette in never say never…i have to say from all of Tibette’s stories that i’ve read only in never say never Tina and Alice was sister.. and it’s quit refreshing..:D
