I didn’t really take it seriously since I thought she was just feeling the effects of the wedding but now I’m not so sure” Immediately intrigued by her friends words, Alice’s eyes widened with curiosity. “What do you mean? What did she say?” Carmen bit her lip, considering if

    Immediately intrigued by her friends words, Alice’s eyes widened with curiosity. “What do you mean? What did she say?”

    Carmen bit her lip, considering if it was a piece of information she wanted Alice to have. Then again, she had been wanting to tell someone since the moment it happened. It was a big deal to her and even Shane as well considering her girlfriend had never so much as hinted to wanting children before. It was something Carmen had always secretly wanted and inside she was jumping with excitement.

    “I think she wants a baby”

    “WHAT?!”

    Carmen’s free hand immediately flew to Alice’s mouth and she shushed her for further emphasis. Her cheeks heated in a deep blush as she locked eyes with Alice, much too embarrassed to look around to see if anyone was looking their way though Carmen was pretty sure everyone was.

    Having realized what she had done, Alice tried to speak with Carmen’s hand still over her mouth.

    “Mffph mmmhhf mmfphh”

    It would have been impossible for anyone else to make out her words but knowing Alice as well as she did, Carmen understood her clearly.

    “I know you’re excited but I would really appreciate it if the entire wedding party wasn’t part of this conversation”

    Alice nodded in understanding but Carmen could see the giddiness dancing in her eyes. She wasn’t quite ready to release her hand.

    “I’m serious, Al. You gotta calm down or else I’m not gonna take my hand away. Inside voice, you promise?”

    She received a rather enthusiastic head nod and arched a suspicious eyebrow. Alice met her gaze, seeming genuine so Carmen finally freed her friend’s mouth, hoping she wouldn’t regret her decision.

    Her tone was much softer than before though the excitement was still present. Carmen was thankful for that, it was best she would get from Alice.

    “When did this happen?”

    “Earlier when Angie was hanging out with us” Carmen bounced a fidgety Nathan to put him more comfortably on her hip before finally deciding to place him on his feet. She often forgot that he wasn’t a baby anymore, his weight weighing down her tiring arms more than a reminder. “Okay little man, go play”

    4. Thank you for this story. I was sitting in my office today and reading this one over again. My boss wondered what had me so enthralled lol. I love a happy Tibette ending. It’s something so special about these two. I love them. Inexplicably, because of all the challenges that come their way. They always overcome and that’s what truly matters.
