    Tina cleared her throat to prepare herself for the speech she had been rehearsing for weeks, her emotions already getting the better of her. “Bette .. you have been a light in both of our lives from the very first day. You’ve been there for Angie and I more than anyone ever has. You took

    Tina cleared her throat to prepare herself for the speech she had been rehearsing for weeks, her emotions already getting the better of her.

    “Bette .. you have been a light in both of our lives from the very first day. You’ve been there for Angie and I more than anyone ever has. You took us in when we needed it the most. You’ve cared for us, loved us .. saved us”

    Bette’s watery eyes flickered to Angie who was beaming up at her, swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat. She hadn’t expected the speech, unsure of just where Tina was going with it. They were already married, between them and Angie they were already a family. What more could Bette ask for? What more could she want?

    The room had fallen deathly silent, every single guest hanging onto Tina’s every word. A few people had even begun to shed tears, reaching for nearby napkins in an attempt to control the waterworks.

    “I never expected to find my soul mate in an elevator on my way to Lamaze class” Tina smiled, earning one from her beautiful wife who was so obviously fighting tears. Tina felt her own rolling down her cheeks, urging herself to finish her speech before she succumbed to her emotions. “I also never thought I would find my child’s other parent after she was conceived”

    Tina chuckled as Bette released her own breath of laughter, her smile falling away the moment Angie reached up to hand her the envelope she had been holding. Bette looked to it, to Angie and then to Tina with a confused expression, the blonde simply smiling and giving nothing away.

    Tina watched as Bette’s shaky hands fiddled with the envelope, removing a set of folded papers. Tina waited until she was sure Bette read the papers before she spoke, the brunette’s stunned expression making it evident she knew what they were for.

    “You’ve been there since before Angie was even born. You are just as much her mother as I am. I just figured we should finally make it official”

    Bette looked up with an expression mixed of happiness, disbelief and shock. Tina would remember that look forever.

    As if she had finally lost control over her emotions, Bette’s tears began to fall. She covered her face as she cried from the sheer joy she felt, her shoulders shaking from the intensity of her crying.

    4. Thank you for this story. I was sitting in my office today and reading this one over again. My boss wondered what had me so enthralled lol. I love a happy Tibette ending. It’s something so special about these two. I love them. Inexplicably, because of all the challenges that come their way. They always overcome and that’s what truly matters.
