Private Duty—Chapter 1

”Nice to meet you. Tina called and told me you were here. Did you find everything acceptable as far as your room and all?” Tricia asked
Bette nodded her head
”More than acceptable. This place is like the Taj Mahal compared to some other homes I stayed in” Bette answered honestly and shuddered at the thought
Tricia chuckled as Tina walked into the room
”Good. I see you two have met” Tina said as she stood beside Tricia.
”Yeah. I’m glad you two or here. Can I go ahead and get my assessment done while the two of you are in here right now?” Bette asked as both Tina and Tricia nodded in unison
Bette took her stethoscope and listened to Theresa’s heart then took vital signs charting them down. Bette then inspected Theresa’s body closely for bed sores and any other signs of trauma that were there before she arrived.
After writing her assessment up and turning Theresa over to her other side Bette administered her insulin dosage and through the needle in the Sharps container that Tina had installed on the wall.
”If you would like a copy of the assessment you can contact the agency and request it. I will be entering it on my laptop and it will get forwarded automatically to the agency” Bette said as she hung her chart down on the end of the bed.
Tina and Tricia both nodded and Tricia left out of the room to check on Alana.
”You are so gentle with her. When Tricia and I turn her she lets out these little grunts like we are hurting her but we are being as gentle as possible. She didn’t even wince when you turned her” Tina looked at Bette in amazement
Bette smiled ”I have been doing this a long time. I’ve learned where to place my hands and use the turn sheet that helps take stress off of the patient when you are turning them. I’ll show you when it’s time to turn her again”
”Ok great. I’m going to go downstairs and talk to Tricia for a minute. Would you care for anything to drink?” Tina offered heading to the door
”I’ll get something later. Thanks” Bette replied as she took the IV bag down and replaced it with another.

I remember this so pleased to see it back and look forward to you continuing it and completing it.
Happy New Year, stay safe
SG
Happy New Year to you SG! You stay safe!
This is a good beginning…. but please do not abandon your other story….. I so want to see what happens to Bette and Tina in that one as well as this one…..
I am going to have to start taking notes on all the stories that are in progress… I love reading them all, but I get somewhat frustrated when they suddenly end with no ending…. I get particularly frustrated when the story goes on for many months and chapters and then suddenly just stops – then years go by and nothing. And then suddenly the author will start to write again and starts one or two or three stories with no mention of the saga which I have been waiting for for months perhaps years. And the strange thing is that the stories are good and seem to be so close to completion. Another couple of chapters maybe????
Totally understand your frustration Martha!…If you are referring to Stolen Hearts it only has one chapter remaining for that book. I should post it soon. I have not decided to do a sequel. It would depend on demand. As far as Soul Dancing that one is far from over. This one however I have been writing on and it’s almost finished. It could warrant a sequel..but again.. that would be up to you the readers
Thank you for the comment!
I completely echo your comments.
A Happy and Healthy New Year Martha
Gr8 story. Sometimes forgiving ones’ self is a monumental task. Breaking patterns of self-hatred take more than a little bit internal tenacity. Tina will ultimately have to let Bette help her through the guilt and pain. And even Theresa will have to let Bette show her kindness.
Looking forward to more chapters!
Great story.. I hope to read more, please.
I remember this story and i am glad you have almost written all the chapters and yes i would love to read a sequel!
And of course I will read the other stories!
Happy New Year!
This is a really good chapter. Great beginning to a very intriguing story. Bette is very forgiving.
