    The Most Distant Course

    “Shh…shh…it’s alright, it’s alright, T, it’s me, Bette…Bette Porter, your finance…”

Bette’s tender voice calms Tina down in instant, she looks at Bette with sad eyes, and then she turns her gaze. Following her every move, the Detective immediately understands what the blonde needs.

    “Here…let me.”

Using one hand to caress Tina’s hair and the other takes the new glass of water she’s put on the nightstand every day, waiting for this moment, she knew the blonde will need water when she wakes up.

    “Hey…”

The Detective carefully puts the straw close to Tina’s lips, minding her wounds, she helps the blonde slowly sips the water in the lying position.

“Take your time, baby…take your time…”

After drinking down the entire glass of water, the blonde finally takes a close look at the woman she’s missing for days.

From the Detective’s appearance, Tina can easily guess that Bette has been living in the hospital for days, her dark curly hair is untidy, dark eye bags are huge under her beautiful swelling brown eyes, she’s been crying for several days. Her clothes are messy and unironed, the used to be proud and strong detective is now tired and vulnerable.

“I’ll get the doctor okay? I’ll be back very soon.”

It took a long while for the doctors to check on her, Bette was there, holding her hand the entire time, caressing her when the sharp needles were put into her skin, it was a long and boring process, and uneasy to tolerate also.

Finally, when the routine was over, Tina let out a small sigh for the temporary peace.

    “How are you feeling, baby?”

The detective manages a smile, Tina tries to say something, but the words still stuck in her throat while she hasn’t used it for a while, Bette immediately pats on her chest.

“Hey, hey…no hurry, okay? Don’t worry, everything is going to be alright.”

This time, it is the blonde whose lips curve up a bit.

Tina gestures for Bette’s hand weakly, then she taps her finger on the detective’s palm.

Bette first doesn’t know what her lover was doing, but very soon she realizes Tina is trying to communicate with her.

It’s Morse Code, the simplest way to communicate.

“THAT…SUPPOSED…” Bette counts out the number one by one and says the word at the same time Tina taps on. “TO…BE…MY…LINE…Seriously, T, are you sure you are injured?”

    1. Hi CJ,

      What a incredible good chapter!

At first i thought you skipped the part about Tina’s life in danger and moved fast forward to their future. And oh what a beautiful dream Tina had when she was fighting for her life. That is certainly a part i want to read more about! The interaction and pouting between Bette & Tina and Noah warmed my heart and made me laugh!

It was a well calculated risk Tina took, but at the end she is the absolute winner!!!

I hope to read what happened with Faye Buckley and Aaron Kornblunth and of course what happened with Candace.

I am a little sad that there will be only three chapters more on this incredible story!

Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent as writer and this story!

    2. Hi CJ:

Great chapter, that was very sweet, like Bibi, I thought that you skipped a whole chapter but then I realized about the wonderful dream of Tina.

Yes, it was hard but Tima made it, now we want to learn what happened with the evil people what about Buckley, Aaron, Candace.

I would like to see how the legal situation of Tina will be fixed.

And of course the happy ending.

      Wonderful story, my friend.

      Thanks and pps.

    3. Love it…after three weeks some of Tina’s superficial wounds and bruises should have healed. The deep wounds and the broken bones probably will take a lot longer. And considering her fragile health, its a wonder she survived at all. Bette needs to heal also. Can’t wait to hear about Faye Buckley, Aaron Kornbluth, and Candace Newell. Oh and what really happened to Shane? Did Max really kill her? Surely not! Is Tina now really in the clear – free to live her life as a normal person? What will happen to Bette and her job? Maybe she will leave law enforcement and do something else? I really hope the Cooper Family chapter is now truly closed.

This is a good story….I want Tina and Bette to make a home and life together. Thankyou for the update.

    4. Great Chapter!

You had me a bit at sea to start with but glad I persevered!

Mixed feelings about the story ending but really looking forward to your next post.

You are a talented storyteller, thanks for posting.
